Dear Republican Friends,

As we gather our thoughts and prepare to transition to the newly elected administration, I wanted to take a moment to say Thank You for all the hard work and support you have invested over these past two years.  Republicans made impressive gains nationally on November 2nd, and I look forward to the time when we are able to say the same about the Third District and the State of Kansas.

Group in Focus: Sunflower Republican Women’s Club

The Sunflower Republican Women's Club of Johnson County was started with 12 charter women in March 1994 when the club filed with the Kansas Federation of Republican Women. The club?s first president was Joy McFarland, followed by Cheryl Freidline, Joan Williams, Alba English, and Char Bredemeier. Nancy Hanahan is the current president. Club presidents serve on two-year terms. Any registered Republican in Johnson County may join, and annual full membership (women) is $20; men or associate members (non-voting) may join for $10. The club meets on the second Thursday of each month at Adrian's Cafe, 11120 Antioch, Overland Park. Meetings begin promptly at 7 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. Many come early to eat dinner, get a seat, and visit from 6-6:45 p.m. Club meetings are well attended, and there often is standing room only.

TARs Look to Expand Beyond Blue Valley West

The Teenage Republicans (TARs) of Blue Valley West High School are looking for interested students to start TARs clubs at high schools throughout Johnson County.

"I'm really looking for some dedicated people to help me get this project started," said Hogan Miller, junior at Blue Valley West and president of the school's TARs. "Starting and running an active club can be a rewarding experience for those involved."
